David Horvitz is an LA based artist whose work has been described as "Playful and poetic an ocean romantic" His practice functioning around
the systems of language, time and network with the use of hyper-paced Zoom calls, emails, and images transmitted through screens. Refraining from categorization, his expansive shifting, reforming body of work has taken a multitude of forms.
Harnessing image, text, object and flows which he mobilizes to circulate and operate independently from himself Horvitz deploys art as both object of contemplation and as viral or systemic tool to effect change on a personal scale. David
Horvitz makes fictions that insert themselves surreptitiously into the real. "Shifting seamlessly pebbles
often possess a naturally frosted finish"

Featuring Artist:
The term Euphony has been described as “being pleasing to the ear” regarding our exhibition outcome acts in contrast to the notion.
About the team: We are a small group of 6 second year Fine Art (Ba Hons) students from University of Creative Arts. Under the current global circumstances we have been challenged with further informing our practices including curatorial projects. The following exhibition 'Euphony' continues on from our current work. Stemming from concepts about language, perceptions and communication. Including the struggles and barriers that come with translation and re-interpretation.
Our current concept for the exhibition has been linguistic manipulations and alleviation's of verbal restrictions following contextual background research into Chomsky and Universal grammar theory as well as Lawrence Weiner's initial investigations of language-as-art.

PERFORMANCE LAUNCHS AT 4PM ON THURSDAY THE 11TH OF MARCH 2021!!!!!
DAVID HORVITZ
Euphony Performance (11th of March 2021 4pm, duration 30 minutes)

The performance was a channel of communication that built bridges as well as highlighting the non physcial barriers between participants around the world. From David Horvitz in La to students in Italy the UK and Thailand. It has been a journey for those establishing Euphony as art project, performance and exhibtion, which has lead to success as well as further insights for future representions. 20 participants came to the live zoom call in which the first minute was a testing of the waters: but once in the swing of things the disconected conversation took off. An overlay of sounds, accents and above all the unexpected participation of the crow who became a subject for converation.

STATMENTS FROM THE TEAM:
"The performance appeared as a platform of communication and more important the participation from the artists exploring words and countries with –land at the end. Moreover, it is interesting that you could not know who was actually “speaking” same for the artist himself." -Aurora Ulian

"The performance and instructions were received well, which was encouraging as we were all quite nervous about what the particpatory reaction would be" - Jess Berry

"Overall the perfromance resembled the initial intentions. The activation from various langauage forms allowed us to explore through indirect communications, of the potential inbuilt grammer systems we own.Regarding Chomsky's Universal grammer theory ( which suggests that the ability to learn gremmar is innate regardless of lanaguage type)." - Chris Richards
